Kayaking in the Keys and talking about one of my favorite things ever: red mangroves 🌿 That yellow–orange leaf you sometimes see? It’s called a sacrificial leaf. Mangroves filter excess salt and store it only in that leaf… then let it die so the rest of the plant can survive. Yes — you can even taste the salt (and yes, it’s salty 😅). Nature is smart.
